- Brush carefully with a medium strength toothbrush. Brush all your teeth surfaces, brush your tongue, your upper palate, the gum line and as deep as you can without retching. Do not use water when brushing as it reduces the strength of the toothpaste. When you finish, use only a little bit of water, about a handful, to rinse your mouth. Leaving a little bit of toothpaste helps the constituents continue to work after you finish brushing.
