What Should I Spend My Time On?

It’s great to manage your time but you should also know why and on what to spend your time.

Why should I manage my time? Because Time is precious and can never be recovered. When you find out what is important to you, you spend time developing it. When you spend time on it, it becomes part of you and when it does you become great at it and at executing it effortlessly.  Take for example, a violinist. To get good at playing the violin, he/she must spend nothing less than two hours everyday practicing different tunes. Some people even spend four to five hours daily because the more time you spend, the better you get.

Now, what should I spend my time on? The things that are most important! For now, the most important things are your studies, your relationships and your hobbies/talents. When you focus on the things that are important, every other thing fades away.  Check yourself, what time do you like to read and do your assignments? One to two hours is not too much to spend reading every day. It might be hard at first but when you start, it becomes a habit and you feel weird when you don’t. If you love to do this immediately after school, speak to your parents so they hold your chores till you are done. If you prefer to do it just before you go to sleep, great! Knowing when you’re comfortable helps you to assimilate better. As much as your school work is important, it’s also important to build great relationships. Don’t neglect to discuss with your parents about your day. Play brings families and friends closer. Always look for opportunities to participate in activities with your family and friends. Even if you’re one who likes to be alone, try as much as possible to build true relationships because they are important to live a well rounded life.

Lastly, what are your hobbies? Even as small as playing football with your friends or reading a novel. Always find time to do what makes you happy. If you think you need to draw out a Table to better manage your time, write out a list of everything you do and ask an adult to help.

I hope you take these tips to heart and use them to make your life better.

The Pros of Time Management

Imagine getting to school on the day you’re supposed to submit your notes to your teacher and realizing you left it at home. It’s like a bad dream because you can lose the marks and get punished for it. It could have easily been avoided if you learned to manage your time by writing down everything you need for the next day and packing the night before. There are so many advantages of time management and I’ll list a few of them.

Like I said above, planning minimizes mistakes and promotes organization.

It gives you extra time to get more things done or to rest and play.  When you manage your time right, you are not stressed because you know everything will be done at the right time.  You don’t do your assignments in class and fail them, you do them at home where you’re settled and get higher scores.

You become a reliable and more responsible person when you can manage your time, meaning that people can rely on you and trust you to be focused.  This helps to open up more opportunities for you because people will always remember and choose to support someone who is reliable.

Managing your time also means you’re not wasting time doing necessary things or being idle because an idle mind is the devil’s workshop.

Time management is a skill that has no disadvantages and should definitely be applied in everyday life!

3 WAYS TO MANAGE TIME EFFECTIVELY

Happy new year to you. I guess your holidays were fabulous. It’s a brand-new year with lots of opportunities for you to move closer to your success in your academics and personal life by following proven success principles. I hope that by the end of 2019, we’ll all be celebrating the successes we have recorded.

For you to succeed, you will need to manage time effectively. The ability to manage and allocate time correctly is what distinguishes high achievers from average people. The problem most people face is that there never seems to be enough time available to do all they want. You have just twenty four hours in a day in which you have to go to school, do house chores, finish assignments, hang out with friends and still rest and sleep. It sounds crazy at times to think about the many things you must accomplish with such little time. I also feel like that at times, but I’ll share three tips with you to help you achieve more with your time.

1. HAVE A TO-DO LIST: One of the things that can help you make the best use of your time is to have a to-do list. Write down all the things you must do in a day no matter how insignificant they may seem. This allows you to know exactly what you must accomplish in a day and gives you a level of control over your time. You may discover that you have more or less than what you think you have to accomplish in a day.

2. REMOVE UNIMPORTANT THINGS FROM YOUR LIST: You must realise that there is just so much you can achieve in a day, so you need to allow only the important things to occupy your time. The easiest way to discover what to stay on your list is to ask yourself what will give you more value if you spend your time on it. For example, if you have to choose between completing your assignment and watching TV or visiting your friends, you may want to consider that completing your assignment will add more value to your education than watching TV or visiting friends.

3. ALLOCATE TIME FOR EVERYTHING: You also have to learn how to allocate time for everything you have on your list. This will allow you to accomplish more. For example, if you have to complete an assignment and help with some house chores, it will be wise to determine how much time you want to spend on each task. If it usually takes you 30 minutes to finish your house chores, it would be unproductive to spend 1 hour 30 minutes on the same chores. Always bear in mind that you have limited time which you cannot afford to waste.

Try to manage time effectively from this year on and see how much more you can achieve. It may not be so easy, but definitely not impossible.

January Newsletter

Welcome to the New Year! I’m so excited about 2019 because we have great plans for you guys! I know we’ve all heard about New Year resolutions and we all know how easily they get discarded so instead of more resolutions, let’s work on something that can actually make us succeed in this year and in the long run. That is managing your time.

Time Management is an important part of your everyday life. It is a skill that should be learnt if we really want to achieve as much as we set out hearts to do. The Bible says, there is time for everything and Time and chance happens to them all. This is because time is important and if we waste it, by the time we realize what is happening, it might be too late to make a change. So the best thing to do is to make great use of your time now and reap the fruits tomorrow.

School resumes soon, how do you manage your time before during and after school?  First, you get up early, leave adequate time to bathe, brush, groom yourself, pack and confirm that everything is intact. Doing this alone prepares you to have a great day. If you rush, you get disorganized and hardly listen in class. When in class, take the short break before the next teacher comes up to sort your notes and revise the last topic. Making noise never helps anyone and whatever you have to discuss can always wait till school closes. At home, don’t forget to get your homework done and do your house chores.

All work and no play make Jack a dull boy! Don’t forget to indulge in safe games and good discussions but try not to overdo it. There are other great tips on this very necessary life skill in the blog section, please check it out every week. Also, we just updated the About Us section so please check that out too.  Don’t forget to stay tuned for all the great stuff we have in this New Year. Have a wonderful start to the year!
