May Newsletter

The month of May is here already and reminds us how time flies. The Coronavirus has brought so much uncertainty to the world. We at B2SL hope you are doing your best to slow the spread and save lives by following expert advice which is; wash your hands regularly, stay away from large gatherings as much as possible for now do not be careless!

Our focus this month is on dedication. Dedication means you are committed to a task or purpose according to the Dictionary. Dedication is a virtue that you must have in order to succeed. Dedication is tied to action. It means you are ready and have willingness to start something, do it to the best of your ability, and ensure you complete it. Think about the journey of a thousand miles that begins with a step. You need the first step to start, but it is dedication that ensures that you are able to take all the steps until you reach the thousandth mile.

Do not think of dedication only in terms of thousands of miles which represent demanding tasks such as preparing for a major examination or doing something you have never done. Dedication should be a part of your life in seemingly small things like waking up at a particular time every day or ensuring you complete your house chore regularly.

Do not wait until later. Think about a simple task that you need to be dedicated to. Write it down and dedicate yourself to completing it and see how you have gone after just a few days. It will be great to hear from you how you are building dedication in your life.

Please stay and remain safe and we’ll see on the other side of success.

February Newsletter

February is a month where on the 14th love is set aside to celebrate love. Love should be an integral part of our everyday lives where we do not have to wait until its Valentine’s Day before we give alms to the poor and needy, before we pay visit to the orphanage homes, before we exchange presents amongst ourselves. Love should be practiced every day.

A lot of young people misunderstand Valentine’s Day for a day set aside for lovers and so many teens go immoral and involve themselves in illicit relationships. Many teen girls feel it’s a good time to lose their virginity. Yes you have a right to meet new people and socialize but be very discreet, with your choice of friends also be very platonic and understand that there is a set time for everything.

While the celebration is on, be reminded that your destiny is ahead of you and you have to fulfill your academic goals for the term, session and year. Maximize your time very well on your academics and be result driven as February 14th will come and go.

In this month, B2sl will bring to you more interesting articles on what time is all about and how you can use time to your advantage. Do not fail to visit the blog and invite a friend to enjoy with. Cheers

JANUARY NEWSLETTER

The year 2019 has come and gone and everyone seems to have quickly forgotten about that year and are swimming in the euphoria of the New Year.  This is simply a reminder that when one dies, they are quickly forgotten so the only thing one can remember in 2019 are the remarkable days. This is why at every given time we need to make our life count. We need to do splendid things that will make us stand out in the twelve months of 2020. It should not be about setting New Year’s resolution and not abiding by them. It should be about deliberately making things happen for you and for people around. Here are some nuggets from John L. Mason: think on them

  1. Don’t ask time where it’s gone; tell it where to go
  2. Noah didn’t wait for his ship to come in-He built one
  3. A goal is a dream with a deadline
  4. Don’t quit after a victory
  5. Don’t measure your success by what others have and haven’t done
  6. Never surrender your dream to noisy negative
  7. Stand out don’t blend in
  8. Say no to many good ideas
  9. Don’t waste your tomorrow wondering on your yesterdays
  10. Have a ready will and walk, not idle time and talk.

December Newsletter

The yuletide season is here, and here is B2sl and my humble self wishing you a happy Christmas celebration and New Year in advance.

The 2019 journey has been smooth and well calculated I guess for all those who planned and were focused on their goals. So much has been achieved already and maybe some things are yet to prove through, not to worry you will do better in 2020. This implies that preparations for the New Year should begin now. Did I just notice you raising an eyebrow at the mention of “preparation”? Yes preparation is key, in fact, it is how to end the year and start a new one as a student.

You take charge of the New Year by setting new goals (realistic ones), be resolute in achieving them by constantly reviewing them. Another thing you should take into cognizance is consistency. In 2020 you must imbibe the habit of consistency because it is one of the characteristics of successful people.

Let me tell you a thing about the lion and the gazelle; According to Muhammed bin Rasheed Al Maktoum, in his book ‘My Vision’ he said “With each new day in Africa, a gazelle wakes up knowing he must outrun the fastest lion or perish; At the same time, a lion stirs and stretches knowing he must outrun the fastest gazelle or starve. It is no different for the human race. Whether you consider yourself a gazelle or a lion, you simply have to run faster than others to survive” see? You simply have to be ahead of others by planning and being consistent with your plans.

B2sl encourages you never to give up in your life pursuits, be the best at what you do and always remember that you have a dream to fulfill. Don’t forget log on to our site and read life changing articles that will inspire you to succeed.Have a beautiful holiday you all.

November Newsletter

Everything that has a beginning has an end. January 2019 seems like yesterday and now the herald of December is here. How time flies! I am sure most of you can still remember vividly how you wished other people a happy new year which is now an old year racing to its end.

November may mean different things to different people. It may mean ‘rounding off time’’, fine tuning your plans, re-strategizing altogether, or being thankful for life that enables you to go on with your set plans especially around your school work and career choice.

The end of the first term is fast approaching and that means examinations are around the corner. During this time of the year, activities like end of year parties, Christmas Carols, and others may cause you to be distracted. While it is good to enjoy the moment and be happy, it is important to be focused on your school work as there will be more than enough parties in the future. Study and pass your exams with good grades.

The topic for the month is “valuing yourself”. We’ll look at topics like dealing with your emotions, how to be more responsible and the importance of chastity. The b2sl team has put all this together   because we care about your success and we want to help you succeed. Placing value on yourself will help you take charge of the rest of the year.

Wishing you all the best.
