Welcome back to school, I guess the holiday was full of fun and learning. A few of you felt that the holidays was just too short while others were in a hurry to resume so as to catch up with school activities, see their friends and classmate. All the same you are all welcome.

It is the final term of 2018/2019 academic session, it definitely implies that in no time, you will be moved to another class and I am sure no one wants to be left behind. If you know that you did not do amazingly well in the previous term, you’ve got to step up your game because there is room for everyone to perform well and emerge in flying colors.

With our focus for this month being “Essential Life Values”, I would like to share with you some quotes while you go on and read more post all through the month on this topic.

  • It is never too late to be what you have to be – George Eliot
  • Action is the foundational key to all success – Pablo Picasso
  • Let us remember; one book, one pen, one child, one teacher can change the world – Malala Yousafzai
  • I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit, suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion – Muhammed Ali
  • The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best for today – Milton Berle
  • I believe every human being has a finite number of heartbeats, I don’t intend to waste mine -Neil Armstrong.

School work is already on, and of course, this is one of the milestones you need to get hold of your future, I therefore crave your indulgence to give everything you’ve got to reach your academic goals and potentially spur up those test scores to the next class.

Oh! How I love holidays! It’s a great time to rest, refresh and catch up on all the things you missed due to school. Who knew one could have so much free time on their hands? Let’s not forget that an idle mind breeds unsavory thoughts so it’s great to keep yourself busy this holiday. A few things you can do are;

  • Learn to cook
  • Clean out your wardrobe
  • Finish a great book
  • Help out around the house
  • Teach yourself to dance
  • Learn the basics of a new language
  • Take up painting and other craft
  • Learn board games.

This is by no means an exhaustive list but it’s a great starting point. So go out and do some great things this holiday.

On our blog this month, we have exciting topics dealing with our health. We are going to learn a lot of fun, relevant stuff there so join me throughout this month. Happy new month!!!!

Can you believe it’s the second month of the year already? Believe it or not, you’ll blink and the year will be over. This is the best time to review your goals for the year to be sure you’re not wasting time. I’ve heard that it takes 21 days to learn a new habit or break and old one.  This means that all you need to make a real change is determination every day for the next 3 weeks. If you think you’ve not achieved anything yet, don’t fret, you have 11 more months to go. All you have to do is review your goals and make sure they are attainable. In previous posts we’ve talked about working around your preferences. If you have chores to do at home, work it into your personal timetable, if you prefer to read one topic early in the morning, wake up in time to read and get to school.

Very soon, continuous assessment tests for the term will begin. If you start to read now, you will become familiar with the topics when you are faced with them in a test. If one of your resolutions was to learn a skill, now is the time to plan and practice because practice makes perfect. Always have a strategy for whatever you want to do. Pace yourself and celebrate all your small successes.

That been said, I thought that I should share with you some important life skills. Life skills are those skills everyone needs to live a healthy, happy life. They are effective at ensuring that one knows how to effectively deal with life’s issues.

This month we are going to be dealing with three skills. They are:

(A)Identifying your passions

(B)Basic first aid

(C)The art of failing

At first glance, these might not seem like skills one needs to excel and be happy in life but they are very necessary to ensuring you can deal with life’s issues. Join me on the blog as we explore these further. Have a great weekend and an awesome month!

Now, this month is all about Our Self esteem. On the blog are a couple of topics directly relating to this; Self esteem is your own evaluation of yourself. Basically, it is how you see yourself. If you listen to people who tell you that you can’t make it and you start believing them, you unconsciously begin to act like someone who can’t make it. Anytime you begin to feel low, pick yourself up and connect with great friends. Always avoid negative talk and take care of yourself.

When you have high self esteem, you become confident and can pass exams. Ultimately, you succeed in whatever you put your mind to because you KNOW you can do it and you work accordingly. Once again, I welcome everyone who just joined us and thanks to those who have stayed, we’re going to have a great time together!
